Tampa International Airport to fill 400 jobs at big hiring day event

by Andrew Harlan

Tampa International Airport (TPA) will hold an Airport-wide hiring day this Wednesday, January 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event aims to fill over 400 job openings to accommodate the increased passenger traffic expected during the busy Spring Break period.

Nearly two dozen companies will be present, including the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), aviation maintenance provider Airborne, and parking services company ABM. These employers are seeking candidates for positions related to airport operations, security, and maintenance.

The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (HCAA) oversees TPA and the county’s three General Aviation airports. The HCAA is looking to fill technical maintenance roles, seeking candidates skilled in plumbing, electrical work, air conditioning, and painting to support the maintenance of airport buildings and facilities.

In addition, the TPA Police Department will be on-site to discuss job opportunities for certified law enforcement officers interested in working at the airport.

The hiring day follows a successful event held in September 2024, where over 1,600 candidates attended and many received job offers on the spot. This Wednesday, January 29, interested individuals can meet with employers and explore available positions from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at TPA’s Main Terminal Event Space (Level 3, between the shuttles for Airsides E and F).
