Ciccio’s largest full-service restaurant bar Jay Luigi opens in Tampa

by Andrew Harlan

Ciccio Restaurant Group’s celebrated Italian restaurant, Jay Luigi, will expand to Tampa and take over the space formerly occupied by Luv Child at 516 S. Howard Ave. It will officially open on Dec. 19.

The first Jay Luigi debuted on 4th Street North in St. Petersburg about three years ago. That restaurant is more tailored to quick service and delivery. Its Tampa counterpart will have a higher emphasis on sit-down service.

According to a press release, it’s the group’s most significant full-service restaurant and bar venture to date.

Jay Luigi offers creative twists on classic Italian dishes

The menu offers healthy and creative twists on classic Italian dishes, including two offerings of Roman pizza: Pala (light and fluffy) and Tonda (thin and crispy), an array of shareable fancy plates, fresh pasta, locally grown veggies, grilled meats, and lighter craft aperitif-style cocktails.

This restaurant is the culmination of a partnership between Jason Brunetti, Pizza Savant, and Pizza Chef Vito Recchia, who trained and worked in Italy for over five years.
