A Gasparilla Puppy Pirate Parade is happening in Tampa
What could be more adorable than a pirate parade? A puppy pirate parade, of course. Water Street Tampa is bringing the cuteness to a new level with the return of the Gasparilla Puppy Pirate Parade on January 12, 2025.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., dog owners and pet enthusiasts are invited to Water Street for fun, festivities, and furry friends. The event will feature a pirate-themed parade, pet-friendly activities, and a Pirate Pup Costume Contest.

Tampa’s cutest parade returns
The parade starts at noon, where pups of all shapes, sizes, and breeds will march down Water Street in their finest pirate attire. Get ready to see some seriously creative costumes! At 2 p.m., the dog costume contest will take place at Sparkman Wharf (615 Channelside Dr), giving even more pups the chance to shine and claim the title of best-dressed pirate.
In addition to the parade and contest, attendees can enjoy face painting, pet portraits, and more. Plus, Mercy Full Project will be on hand at Raybon Plaza with pet adoptions, so you might find your new furry best friend while you’re there. All proceeds from the event, including registration fees, will benefit Mercy Full Project, a nonprofit dedicated to helping animals in need.
Pet owners who want to participate in the parade must register in advance.
